Kashi, the luminous city of Lord Shiva, is the timeless spiritual core of Varanasi and one of the oldest sacred sites on earth. Its name means the City of Light, and for millennia it has been regarded as the holiest of all Hindu tirthas.
At its heart stands the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, home to one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Shiva. The magnificent Kashi Vishwanath Corridor now links the golden-domed shrine directly to the Ganga, restoring the grandeur of this eternal pilgrimage.
To walk through Kashi is to move through living tradition - narrow galis fragrant with incense, the ceaseless chant of mantras, and the ghats where life and liberation meet at the edge of the flowing Ganga.

Darshan at Kashi Vishwanath through the new corridor was seamless and deeply moving. Standing between the temple and the Ganga is something words cannot capture.
The early morning aarti and the walk through the old lanes were the spiritual highlight of our lives. Wonderfully guided throughout.
